Basic Kindle Questions, help?
Hi, I’m going to be traveling for an extended period of time in the near future and am considering buying a kindle (kindle 3 i assume). I had a couple quick questions:
1) What will I need to charge the kindle in the following countries: Israel, Egypt, Uganda?
2) Since I’m going abroad, would it make sense to buy the $189 version with 3G capacity? (ie is there service in most major metropolitans in Israel, Egypt, Uganda?)
3) Can you hook up your kindle to a computer to download books? (Assuming the answer is yes, but just making sure)
1. Most likely, just a plug adapter for those respective countries. It, like any small electronics, likely uses a universal switch mode charger. It can also charge from USB.
2. 3G is set up for one particular mobile provider, where the unit is sold. There would at least need to be agreements between the provider for the 3G, and a 3G player where are going. I doubt there is an argeeement at all with most of those places, if not a favorable one.
3. Yes you can, or use WiFi.
