Is there no way out of purchasing textbooks for college?
-Second hands are still expensive
-I do not accept eBooks (they make my eye strain very badly)
-Library offer short term loans only

Not sure about your college, but my college library is affiliated with over 500 libraries around the world. So instead of borrowing those same books from your library which are on short term loan, try getting it from one of the other libraries. Interlibrary exchange books are generally on loan for at least 3 months and can be extended with ease (unless someone else requests the same book). I managed to get away with buying only TWO textbooks my entire senior year in college just by doing this. So see if that’s an option.
Also, not all second hand books are expensive at places like amazon or half.com or similar used resource sites.
Also, you can always buy the textbooks and go to a local photocopier that gives great rates (ours by the college charged $0.01/page) and photocopy the entire textbook for a fraction of the price. After you’re done, return the brand new textbook.
