What can i take and do in the Army?
Hi, when i turn 19 or 20 i;m thinking of joining the army as a driver or chef, i’m 15 at the moment, but i;m joining the ATC in a few weeks/months
Does this affect anything in any way?
I also ask these questions:
Can i take my mobile?
Can i take a digital camera?
do i contact my family via letter, email, or phone?
do i take my laptop?
can i take a book or kindle?
how much time off do get if i’m in the army full time?
what happens if i catch the flu or anything else on tour?
if a family member or a friend dies, can i go home for the funeral?
does the above question apply with weddings?
if i die will my family get taken care of?

Yes you can take your mobile
Yes you can take your camera
You can contact your family any way you choose
You may take your laptop, but may find it a little difficult to get internet access
You can take as many books as you wish or a kindle if you want
After training you will have most nights off plus weekends this will depend on your duties
If you take ill you may be bedded down in the medical centre or in hospital
If a family member dies you will almost certain to be given compassionate leave, this will depend on where you are stationed, but for a close relative (Mother father Sister) it is most likely to be granted
No weddings are not classed as compassionate so you could attend only if your duties allow you
If you die, your family will not be taken care of, unlike the USA, the British government draw the line there, however if you are married, your Wife may be entitled to a pension.
