Cheapest Kindle on the Planet?
You want the cheapest Kindle? You Can’t Handle the Cheapest Kindle! Well, I can’t. But in case you are one of the idle ones that has plenty of time to invest in the possibility of saving a few bucks, here are the options I can offer…
1. Wait for the Kindle 3, and then shop for a used Kindle on ebay, etc. Of course this is not an option if you’re shopping for a Christmas present. At least a 2009 Christmas gift.
2. Steal one. Unlike Abbie Hoffman’s strategy for getting your hands on his book, I wouldn’t recommend the same.
3. Bid on a ‘like new’ Kindle 2 on ebay. Bid $1 in anticipation of getting that deal of a lifetime, and agonizing watch the bidding catch on fire as the holidays approach.
4. Give up on any hopes of getting a great deal at an auction during the holidays and go back to step 1.
Or save your time and sanity and just buy the dang thing from Amazon.com.
Amazon is the only source for new Kindles and AFAIK they only have one price — no special promotions or anything. However, the Kindle debuted at $399, was dropped to $349, and now is at $299 with free shopping.
So, there you go, the cheapest Kindle 2 on the planet, complete with your free Whispernet wireless subscription. Courtesy of Amazon.
BTW despite my solid advice above, I couldn’t resist clicking a link “WHERE TO PURCHASE KINDLE 2.0 E-READER AT THE LOWEST PRICE”. My only reward was some youtube video message, “This video has been removed due to terms of use violation.”
