can you read library eBooks on a kindle?
Im getting a 3rd generation wifi only kindle as a xmas gift. I was wondering if I can use it to read ebooks from libraries websites. Im an english major so I run to the library almost daily to get books. Mostly novels, but not very common ones.(ones that aren’t free in kindle ebooks) )I don’t want to pay just to read books on the kindle when I can go to the library and check them out for free. Any suggestions?
You don’t have to go to the library to borrow e-books but the Kindle can’t do that anyway. You can check out Kindle e-book prices on Amazon. The Sony Readers and Nook can read borrowed e-books from the library. To see what titles are available, go to Overdrive.com and enter your zip code to find a consortium in your state and be aware that e-book libraries are expanding quite quickly. There are even some libraries that will lend out-of-state for a very small annual fee.
ETA: another point in favor of the Sonys is that you have lots of choices for e-bookstores. I’ve saved a small fortune with coupon codes from Kobo and rewards from Borders.
