electronic books publishing
Anyone know of any major authors who refuse to sell out to Kindle and other electronic “book” devices?

Electronic “books” (digital downloads) are obviously detrimental to literature and the world of publishing in so many ways. That’s a fact. But most authors are lured into it by more profits. Self publishing crackpots and gadget lovers are also huge advocates for it.
Nevertheless, does anyone know of any major published author who has refused to go to digital downloads?

How is it a fact that e-books are detrimental to literature and the world of publishing? That’s not a fact. That’s your opinion.

On the contrary, I believe that any medium that allows more widespread distribution of great literature is a fantastic thing. Furthermore, in terms of business costs, e-books are great for publishers – they cost less to produce so everyone brings home more profit, and they are sold at a lower cost to consumers, so people can buy (and thus read) more books.

The authors who are choosing not to license their books for electronic delivery are not luddites who think technology is detrimental to their writing – they aren’t happy with the contracts their publishers are offering them:
