The 7 Best Books About The Best Band Of All Time
I’m definitely well past the point where I am able to count all of the Beatles books I’ve read. It’s safe to say it’s more than just seven. My point is that my list of the seven best books about The Beatles is not just thrown together, it’s a carefully selected group of seven out of the many books on the band that I’ve read.
The Beatles Anthology – If I had to recommend only one book to every Beatles fan it would be this one. It’s The Beatles biography as told by The Beatles themselves and it’s filled with great pictures and interesting insights.
The Beatles Complete Scores – The “must have” book for any musician who wants to play The Beatles music. It includes the scores for every Beatles song released from ’62 through ’70.
Many Years From Now – Paul McCartney’s first person account of The Beatles career.
Revolution In The Head – Includes interesting opinions and informaton about each recording The Beatles have released. It’s a fantastic resource and an interesting point of view on The Beatles music.
The Beatles As Musicians – I’m kind of cheating with this selection because this is actually a two book series. One book covers the band’s music from 1957 through Rubber Soul and the other picks up at Revolver through the end of their career. This book is meant for those who are very interested in an extremely detailed look at The Beatles music (not their life, but their songs.) If you don’t like music theory, you probably won’t like this book!
Recording The Beatles – This book costs one hundred dollars and is really only of much interest to people who record music. If that sounds like you, it’s probably worth the high price.
Here, There, & Everywhere: My Life Recording The Beatles – In some ways I think this book by recording engineer Geoff Emerick is actually the most interesting book on The Beatles I’ve ever read.
