All those that are selling eBooks on eBay right now have to put them on disc, which is eBay’s new rules regarding digital products. eBay no longer allows digital downloads, so your only option is to burn them to a disc and post this off to your buyer.
Having to do this may seem like an extra burden as it cuts down your profits, but appearances can be deceiving. A physical product (even an eBook you burned to disc yourself) is always perceived to have a higher value than a downloadable product – meaning you can charge more for it!
But please remember that you don’t really care about that cheap eBook you just sold, because all you really want is the buyers email address and shipping address, as once you have these you can market other more valuable products to them.
If you can persuade them to sign up for your emails from your autoresponder, then you can promote products to them automatically – even while you are asleep. Making money while sleeping – the perfect business! Most of the people selling eBooks on eBay are doing exactly the same thing. They are simple selling cheap eBooks as an easy way of getting customers details for later marketing purposes.
Maintaining a good relationship with current customers is very important and you should make sure you are friendly and professional with all your customers to keep them for the future – it is so much harder to get a first time customer than maintain a current one.
The eBooks you offer should be of a high quality even though they are free, so do a little research and select good ones before selling them on eBay, even though you don’t really care about the eBook itself. Any product you sell reflects on you.
The eBook you sell should also be related to your product niche, that way you can inform them of other similar items you have that are of interest to them and increase your chances of making sales of a higher value later. In addition to that you appear to be an expert in your niche market if you are only ever offering products from this particular niche market range.
The only thing that you need to do right now is find a reliable source of quality eBooks that give you resell rights to supply your business, and a simple search at surefirewealth.com should provide enough material for you (many products are available entirely for free!)
You could of course write your own for additional “expert” status. If you can create your own eBook at least you will have a unique product, but this can be time consuming if you are not a very quick writer, and you should really invest your time elsewhere – after all there is money to be made!
Naturally once you have chosen an eBook you have unlimited copies of it because you just burn another one when you make a sale. This is good because if multiple people bid on your item (assuming you use auction listings) you can allow each one to “win”, regardless of how low their bid was, and receive their email address and shipping information when they pay for it.
As you can see, again you don’t care how little money you are making with each sale, you only care about getting a buyer so that you can market to them later.
One quick word of caution. “market to them later” does not mean spamming them! Simply contact them through eBay after the sale and let them know about your niche market product email subscriber list and get them to opt in like everyone else. Then you can safely begin the marketing process free of worries about spam complaints.
Also, do not miss the trick of giving them a simple printout when you post the disc with their eBook on it. Your printout will not add to the postage costs, but can inform them of your website, products an email subscriber list.
Things to do right now:
1. Get niche market related eBooks that will reflect well on you when you list them for sale on eBay.
2. Actually list them for sale on eBay for a bargain price.
3. Begin marketing more valuable niche market targeted products to all your eBay buyers, by getting them opted in to your email subscriber list.
