can sum1 explain 2 me how the whole kindle downloading process works?
Okay i looking forward to asking for a kindle for my birthday in August, but I don’t know how use it.
How do I pay for the books first of all?? do i pay through credit card?? is it almost the same as reading a real chapter book??
Is their a way I can get the books of my choice free??
I like zane and eric jerome dickey, and wahida clark but those books i would have to pay for, is their an app or a way to get these books free??
please tell how to use this device before i make any attempt to get one!!
and is their anyway I can get the booklight to come with it, or can i get the booklight free.
I’ve just purchased a kindle myself, and are very familiar with it. First of all, you have to have a credit card registered on Amazon for purchasing the books, and it is exactly like reading a book. In order to download, you simply press a button to place the kindle on wireless, then you go to the kindle store (all on the kindle), and search for the book that you want. None of the books are free, but I have found that they are a little bit cheaper than buying the paperback editions. The downside as far as African-American books is concerned is that a lot of the authors do not have kindle versions. I am also a big Zane and Eric Jerome Dickey fan, and those books are out there.
Apps do not apply to the kindle – you may want to wait for the new ipad if you want apps….I will say that I highly recommend the kindle – it’s very user friendly, and the battery life is excellent!! I purchased this for travel for 10 days to China, purchased 5 books (they downloaded within 5 – 10 seconds each), and I never had to recharge the entire time (and I’m an avid reader!)
In answer to your additional question – since you’re ordering everything from Amazon online (can’t get anything in stores) – free stuff is out the window. Everything that you click on will have a price. I would suggest getting a cover for the kindle though, but I was advised NOT to get the screen protectors because they can cause distortion.
