How long does it take to deliver an ebook to a kindle?
I know this question isn’t strictly to do with books but maybe someone here will know the answer to this.
I got a Kindle for christmas and I’ve just registered it today. I’ve downloaded a couple of books and clicked the ‘deliver to Amy’s kindle’ button. It says that they are pending in the delivery status box. How long will it take for them to actually get onto my kindle?
I’m doing it from Amazon on the computer with my Kindle plugged in with the USB if that makes a difference.

Downloads should usually take no less than a minute…
From Amazon’s help page:
To download your purchase from Manage Your Kindle and transfer via USB:
1. Visit the Manage Your Kindle page.
2. Locate the item you wish to download in the “Your Orders” section at the bottom of the page. If you have a lot of content, you may need to use the Previous and Next options at the bottom to locate your content.
3. Click on “Deliver to . . .” next to the title and choose “Transfer via Computer” from the list.
4. Save the file to your computer when prompted by your web browser.
5. Connect Kindle to your computer with the USB cable.
6. Use your computer’s file browser to drag and drop the file to your Kindle.
