What are some good books to self teach French with?
I would like to learn French after I’m done with Spanish, but I’m not sure what all I need. I’d like to get a kindle book preferably, but a regular book is fine too. Does anyone know any books or what I’ll need to learn French? I have seen the ____ for dummies books, but I’m not sure if there’s a better option.
Are there any specific books ( i just need a good grammar book and pocket dictionary) that you would recommend?
I recommend you “French Language Builder” by Michel Thomas, it is a book with a CD that my partner – who is English – has been using to learn my language and communicate with my family.
Before using this method, we tried lots of different ones but my boyfriend did not like them and found them hard-work / annoying. I must have bought a dozen of different learning books and CDs for him, until he found this one and since then he’s improved all over sudden, so much that he was really surprised himself which help him keep focus and carry on

I’ve also been using this method as I teach French to English adults. At the beginning of the term, I give them the choice between several different methods for them to have the tim e to get familiar with the different ones and choose the one the prefer. 90% of people want to use this one. The 10% left are people who already know French to a good level and just want to become fluent.
