A Tour through Spain’s Architectural Customs
Architecture describes masses about a country’s national heritage; this is why a lot of countries spend so much of their resources in preserving their architectural structures. Spain is one of those countries that sincerely put much store in shielding their cultural legacy through preserving architectural structures. This isn’t exactly shocking, given the beauty that the speckled architectural structures increase Spain’s landscape.
First things first, though, when it comes to preparing for a trip to Spain, it’s important that you recognize the things that can make your trip safer and more convenient for you. If you’re visiting Spain for the first time, you’ll be happy to know that there are a lot of important information about the country available online, and most of it can be had for free. Take care of this by learning through one of the most helpful ways known to man—listening; people learn language best not by just reading about it but by impersonating the words, and this can only be done through listening to language lessons like those that you can download at Rocket Spanish and other language websites on the internet. Rocket Spanish Download can help you learn the Spanish language as it employs various study methods for a very effective learning experience.
The locals of Spain in addition to the many articles written about Spain will tell you that one of the oldest structures that is still preserved would be the structures on Balearic Islands; these prehistoric structures date back to the Bronze Age and were part of the interment chambers built during those times. There are copious buildings that indicate how people have already been burying their dead and building tombs for them. In areas like Avila and Santa Tecla, you’ll find what is usually depicted to as the walled villages; these villages are typical signs of Iberian and Celtic influences on the Spanish culture, and most houses are circular in shape, with thatched roofs and a central pillar that holds the roof up.
During the Roman period in Spain, a mount in religious buildings can be noted, which isn’t exactly a stagger, given that the Roman conquest also caused their strong religious influence on Spain. The Roman Era marked an increase in lighthouses, churches, aqueducts, and the likes. One of the most stable and well-preserved testaments of Roman influence is the Aqueduct of Segovia which still stands until today.
As Spain evolves into a more Gothic style of architecture, some structures became an inimitable combination of Gothic and Romanesque styles. This cathedral is said to be the very first structure made in the sort of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral of Avila is the first Gothic building with subtle hints of past Roman influences but with more French and German factors worked in it.
The structures above only hardly scratches the surface of what structures Spain’s amazing architectural fortunes. Spending time studying them is well worth it because you can have a better understanding of how history impacts cultures.
