Borders.com LIBRE E-books downloads?
I got a Borders.com ” Libre” ebook reader PRO foe Xmass. Can I purchace and download ebooks from Barnes and Noble (Nook) or Amazon (Kindle) into it? Are these three ebook reader companies limited to using their products only?
You will not be able to purchase from Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
Kindle uses an exclusive format and is locked to everyone else.
Barnes & Noble and Sony use the common epub format, but licensing prevents other brands from using their stores.
You will be able to shop through Borders and many independent online ebook retailers. You will also be able to purchase directly from some publishers and authors. You will have to purchase those books on your computer and then transfer them to your device using the usb cord. Be sure you download in a format that your machine can use.
