Do you, or have you ever owned a Kindle 2?
I was thinking of purchasing a Kindle 2, but after reading reviews I am begining to have my doubts. Some people claim that after 12 months (the warranty limit) that their kindles just died. Like, the screen went black. Supposbly this is suppose to be a defect, and according to the purchasers, amazon isn’t taking care of it. So, what I am wondering is is if anyone else has came across similar issues, or if these complains are truly from careless users rather then the so called defects of the device. Please, feel free to tell me about your “good times” with kindle 2 aswell. I just basically want to hear about kindle 2 users. So, tell me anything you want! Oh, but be sure to tell me how long you have had it.
I have Kindle 2 and I love it. No glitches so far at all. I’ve used it for around a month, read probably 6 books since I got it and it has performed flawlessly. I’m not too sure about Kindle 1, but I have some friends used for over a year and haven’t heard of complaints from them yet. At least I think it is not a common problem among the Kindle owners.
My personal choice is to add the 2 year extended warranty. It costs me additional, but since I’ll carry it along with me everywhere, I just buy it for extra safety so I can use it without worrying of damaging it within these 2 years. You can check what it covers from the following page:
