What is your opinion of e-books for 2009?
Do e-readers like Kindle have a future with netbooks becoming so popular?
I personally don’t think Kindle has a future period in it’s current form. However some of the stuff they’ve been introducing at the geek conventions look like they may very well be the future of reading.
Of this, I am not happy.
However, in the battle between computers (or computer like things, net-books) I think e-readers will win as the popular medium for electronic reading. Despite the multi-functionality of a computer, I think most people still find it easier to do reading from a designated medium, designed specifically for reading. Not to mention that despite net-books’ decent battery power, a smart e-reader will always have the potential of being more convenient and energy efficient simply due to fewer components.
