How do you download ebooks onto your kindle?
I have the new Kindle (yay) but am extremely awful with technology.
It’s the wifi model (no 3g). With this in mind, when I use the amazon ebook store (on the kindle itself), and ‘buy’ a free ebook, am I still charged for the downloading itself?
Also, what’s the significance of the ‘my kindle account’ online (as in, on a computer). Can you sync the two? Do they automatically update one another (i.e. I buy something using the kindle and the internet version of ‘my kindle account’ will be updated to show that purchase and vice versa)?

OK, first, if you are shopping for a book on the device, that means you are connected by wi-fi. When you order a book, it will download into your Kindle using that same wi-fi. There is no charge for using the wi-fi.
If you order a free book, it’s free. End of story.
You need an account to link the Kindle too, because it needs to charge for books you do buy, and it also keeps a record of your purchases, so you can download them again.
Lastly, yes, any Kindle apps you are running in addition to on the Kindle itself can be synched to have the same books, same place in the book, etc.
