My Kindle 3 Keeps on Restarting for No Reason?
I got a Kindle 3 about a week ago, and I’ve been experiencing some problems. I’ll be in the middle of reading when all of a sudden my kindle will randomly restart. It’s annoying. The problem hasn’t been too bad until yesterday though. The problem started when I slid the on/off switch to turn it on. It wouldn’t. I plugged it into an outlet, and that seemed to do the trick. BUT THEN it constantly froze and restarted over and over and over and over again. The next morning it was completely charged and the previous night’s problem ceased. I still believe that my kindle is prone to random restarts though.
I had the same problem, and then we discovered that it is the leather case, but it is VERY easy to fix. It’s not the leather that is the problem, but the metal connectors that cause a short within the Kindle itself. Just get some finger nail polish, put a coat on the metal connectors, let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes, reattach your Kindle, and no more restarts. My was restarting constantly and freezing Christmas day, until we did this, and I’ve been using it a lot this week without any problems. Good luck!
