Can I read my .pdf eBooks on a Kindle 3?
I currently read eBooks on my PC in .pdf format, but I am thinking about buying an eBook reader so that I have a portable way of reading. I’ve read reviews for the Kindle 3 and have seen that they support .pdf, but I haven’t read anything that has told me if I will be able to transfer the .pdf files I already have on to it. Will Kindle 3 do for what I’m after, and if not, is there another eBook reader that will?
Yes, you can read PDF ebooks on a Kindle 3. Be aware, however, that PDF is designed more for precise page layout. The reading experience with native ebook formats is better on ereaders, where, for example, text resizing and reflowing usually works much better.
Among ereaders, the iPads have the best support for PDF. Sony ereader support is good, using the official Adobe Mobile PDF reader. The Kindle 3 PDF reading experience is alright, and the DX’s is helped by its 9.7 in display.
