Reading around the Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device is a really joy. I’ve been so happy with my first generation Kindle one, but the DX takes Kindle reading for the next level. The degree of content that fits onto the screen may be a vast improvement to that experience. And even better than the *quantity* of content is a *quality* of the subject material. The display on this DX is truly phenomenal.
I write technical documents for just a living. The product documentation we write is full with images, diagrams, and loaded formatting. I’ve tried launching my PDF documents onto my Kindle 1, but they won’t display. I couldn’t believe my eyes once i loaded my PDFs upon the Kindle DX. The formatting on the page displayed perfectly!!!zooming and rotating was very simple.
I read a lot of technical documents too. I’ve always been sorry that we couldn’t read good specialised books on my Kindle 1 (the latest Photoshop guides, etc. ) They look wonderful on the DX however. With the DX, you can carry your whole reference library on you: dictionaries, reference manuals, the particular Bible,…I even have PDF versions on the shop manuals for each of our dirt bikes. I haven’t so much loaded them onto this DX, but it sure will be easier to have all of them on one compact gadget than having five big fat books to the bikes.
The Kindle DX is just not cheap, but I imagine the worth will come down eventually enjoy it did with earlier Kindle variants. It is an impressive device though–truly a game changing machine. Think of how a person’s TV viewing changed once you got your first TiVo, how driving changed whenever you got a GPS, how your phone changed if you got voicemail and caller ID. That’s how your reading will change whenever you get your fist Kindle.
