Are eBook Readers(i.e. Kindle) actually healthy for eyes?
I was wondering if there were any studies made about e-readers regarding eye-sight in general?
Are they really that good to you (especially if you wear glasses), or is this just a new trend to have one with you?
I’m really interested in buying one, but first I would like to know if it’s really good for long term usage(…not just an extra gadget in the house).
Any expert opinions out there? I would be very grateful!
To my knowledge no studies have been done. So what I can tell you is only based on the experience of my husband and myself over the past year of owning our kindles. Both of us love the e-ink screen. Both of us get headaches when we spend too much time on the computer, but this is not an issue with e-ink at all. Its like reading an actual book, not a computer screen in that sense. I read mine whenever I get the chance and my husband takes his on 24 hour duty shifts at the barracks and is literally reading for hours on end with no eye strain problems at all. Both of us wear glasses incidently. I blame mine on too much time spent reading under the covers with a flashlight
If you’re only concern about buying it is the e-ink, don’t worry it really is as nice to read on as promised.
