Amazon Kindle Now Ships to Australia
Amazon’s Kindle, which is arguably the best eBook reader on the market at the moment, is available for shipment to Australia.
What is the Kindle?
The Kindle is a dedicated eBook Reader. This means that the device has been designed to just one thing and do it – easily download and read books.
However, unlike your laptop or iPad which have backlit screens, the Kindle uses advanced screen technology known as E Ink to ‘electronically’ display ink text. This means that reading from a Kindle is just like reading from a book! This means that you can spend a lot more time reading on a Kindle, without getting eye strain, than you can on your laptop or iPad.

How To Purchase Your Kindle
Many people are uncertain about where to purchase their Kindle and as such a number of unscrupulous sellers have set up websites in Australia selling Kindles for upwards of twice their retail price! Do not fall for this trap – there is no need to purchase your Kindle from such sites.
However, unless you know what you are doing navigating the Amazon website can be a little daunting.
First you will need to create an account. Second you will need to search Amazon for the Kindle that you are looking to purchase; this could be the Wi-Fi, 3G plus Wi-Fi or the DX version.
Once you have selected your Kindle you will need to let Amazon know that you are in a country other than the USA – in our case Australia. To do this look about halfway down the site on the right hand side of the screen and you will see a box with the text with the words ‘Live Outside the US?’ – click this and select Australia from the drop down list.
You will now be taken through a series of steps to purchase your Kindle. Be aware that Amazon will charge an additional $20 for express delivery to Australia. This is money well spent for you will have your Kindle in your hands within 3 to 5 days! They also offer a superb tracking online tracking facility so you can keep tabs on exactly where your Kindle is as they ship it!
