Nintendo 3DS Video – That Nintendo Magic, And How I Lost 10lbs During 1 Month

I’m sure the other 260 reviewers outlined the 3d effects to death witout a doubt. I’ll just add i like a 3d and prefer it on in comparison with off. But I am still waiting for a future game to really reap the benefits of it. I know it can be done considering that menu screens really pop crisply plus sometimes in the launch games it truly is cool. But the extras on the system really add value that is what my review will be about.

I bought the Nintendo 3DS Video on release day and also went to the midnight pick right up line. (I’ve never done that earlier than… neat)
I got Pilot Wings plus Ghost Recon 3ds with my product. Both are excellent games and many fun.

One of my favorite features may be the built in step counter. I didn’t even realize i would love this particular feature and didn’t bother looking at it until I went on a 4 day trip to Ny a week after i got a 3ds. I realized I was walking a whole lot in that humongous city and had my Nintendo 3DS beside me so I took a peek. DOCUMENT was walking 16, 000 steps every day!! I looked online and saw that average Adult male must be walking 10, 000 steps a day. Then I looked back at the prior week in which I only do normal daily routine activities. I barely got over 1500 steps each day. And on 2 days < 1000 tips. (i am a master at planning my bus route so i can jump on transfers to prevent walking). Now my interest was peaked, this step counter adds a gaming element to my everyday life. Suddenly I wasn’t so eager to visit the transfer, and would rather walk the excess distance. Or if the bus wasn’t arriving for another 10 minutes, I would walk to the next stop or 2. Just by replacing little things, I now do the minimum 5000 – 8000 steps a time. But that is not the primarily change, now I also watch my portions on my free lunches in the office, and cut down on free snacks in the workplace. Plus all this health slant has additionally made me stick to my day to day exercise. Net result I have lost 10lbs and feel improved now than I have in 2 many.

To take the idea of adding game elements into lifestyle further, there is the street pass feature which is certainly delightful. You start off with an empty plaza with just you in them. Then at the end of a new day, you open up your Mii Plaza and see who it’s possible you have passed. If you pass someone often, you can set up a special greeting they will get next time. Its totally not intrusive, and its just neat to accumulate all these different Miis’. I didn’t even discover this feature until several days ago. But now I eagerly open up the app in the end of every day and see what individuals I’ve collected.

There also is some decent stats recorded to your game playing in the activity fire wood. So far I have played Pilot Wings 35 times (15 min avg session), and additionally Ghost recon 22 times (41 minutes avg session), and have taken 190, 000 steps (86 miles) since i got my 3ds exactly 1 month ago! (yes i am obsessive enough to measure the amount of steps in a mile, i measured multiple routes and when compared with google maps and just took usually the about 2200 steps per mile)

Simply speaking, Nintendo has done it again. They just can make seemingly silly/boring features ridiculously exciting. I love Nintendo (the company, the particular bastard stock is another story grrrr).

Now I’ve met that theres thousands of games cheaper and free on the iPhone. I know there are step counter apps. And location aware software. And now I carry 3 (I just got a kindle… love) devices around rather than just one. You smart asses. I have an iPhone 4 and download multitudes of games and apps I never play or play once never to look at them again. I used to think of that ranking, why would i need a ds and / or kindle when my super magic infinity device is very sleek and cool?

I dunno why but getting referrals on a handheld Nintendo system is definitely more inherently fun. Maybe cause i spent in the 80s and have long been deeply imprinted. I had the initial gameboy and played that to demise. And kindle, i can’t describe what a difference it is to read shut off a kindle vs the iphone and / or that stupid iPad (had one designed for 3 weeks then sold it). Its smooth like butter for the eyes.

Don’t spend more than you have to! We already done the research for you.
