Dropped my Kindle, now screen doesn’t work right.?
So, I dropped my Kindle earlier today. Now, the upper left corner of the screen is kinda blotched and doesn’t display normally like the rest of the screen. I got the Kindle for Christmas, so I still have the 1-year limited warranty.
1) Would the warranty cover the repair for this incident?
2) If not, how much would it cost, approximately, for a replacement screen? Replaced by Amazon, not some other company.
And just FYI, the Kindle still works perfectly fine, just the screen is screwed up.
The same thing happened to my mom’s kindle right after we got it. I dropped it a really short distance. Instead of admitting I dropped it, I told them it just got that way by itself. They replaced it under warranty at no charge.
Obviously you can only do this if the kindle doesn’t have any other obvious signs of being dropped, like dents, scratches, etc.
(Apparently the kindle screen *is* kind of fragile, and having it break for no obvious reason is not that unusual – that’s why you can probably get away with this).
