Hi Courtney – I have a Kindle and love it! There are no books that are for just one version of Kindle, and other books specific to another version (except for older versions). With the latest Kindles – say within the last year – you can download many free books (mostly out-of-copyright books), and the newer editions only cost from 33 to 67% of the hardback/paperback version. The Kindle supports many different platforms (amz.files, pdf.files, etc.), and a variety of monthly newspapers, magazines, periodicals, etc. For me, the Kindle offered the greatest capabilities/versatility for downloads insofar as downloading from numerous sites. Speaking of downloading, the $189 version that I purchased has free Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity for life! And, you can also surf the web (albeit slowly) – it’s a great deal, and a great way to both save $$$ and read what you want.
