I’ve this friend Sloan.  He is a true lunatic.  I’ve never met anyone who could pole dance without a pole.  But when he is not shaming himself and his whole family tree, he is truly the wisest person I’ve met.  Probably to you that appears as though I might not be saying a lot.  But, don’t take a cue from my spaciness as indicative of the company I keep.  I’ve got a couple razor sharps in my crew for sure.

But, regarding Sloan, I remember once we were discussing the U.S. in Iraq.  It is a complex subject, to be sure, but Sloan thinks that if you are going to consider it, you need to put it into context, which includes historical.  I couldn’t agree more.  Before I knew it, his historical context began with fractured substrata of the Persian Empire and I had three thousand years of history to listen to before we could resume our talk on the U.S. in Iraq.  That is pretty impressive.  Annoying, but impressive.  Numerous times, it’s difficult for me to disagree with Sloan.  But that time happened, indeed, and I’ll never look at him the same again.

I was walking around the Washington Ave. bridge and Sloan told me that he did not like talking in superlatives (this guy sounds like a real ball of laughs, doesn’t he)  Do not get me wrong, I like arguments; and I believe that it is essential in a conversation for people to take and support varying viewpoints and it’s the differences of opinion and belief that permeate our world that keeps us moving and living…but neglecting superlatives, I merely can’t accept.

I love to love things at an equally exalted level as I do to hate things.  It’s the best…ever.  If someone cannot see the ultimate value in that, I believe that person is the lowest of all which disgusts and rots in this world and they most certainly couldn’t be my best friend, for certain. 

This is why I think Sloan is kind of an idiot.  I bet he couldn’t even appreciate the best internet advertising techniques if they were thrown in his face.  It is not Persian history, but internet advertising can have better or worse techniques.  If that’s feasible, it seems to me that with correct research on your aimed demographic and some strong attention given to one’s methodology, it’s very possible to derive the best internet advertising for your particular site and also for your specific commodity.  So, do not be sloppy, contemplating that any advertising is as good as anything else.  There’s a method that will work the most effective for you.  It’s attainable and it is also important to you, so take your time and don’t settle right up until you have got the best.

Should I get a Kindle?

I love reading and I was considering getting one, because I was under the impression that there were a lot of books available for Kindle at low prices. I thought it would save me a lot of money in the long run. But I just had a look at the Kindle store and a lot of the books don’t seem to be that cheap, just £2 or maybe £3 cheaper than the paperbacks. As for the selection, I was able to find a few of the books I use for background reading in my physics course (which impressed me), but I wasn’t able to find Harry Potter? So I’m not sure if I should get one anymore. I read a lot of both fiction and non-fiction.

I considered once to buy a kindle because I’m a book worm and I love to read long books and series. I have to say though that I considered buying it because I can get the books faster than ordering them and waiting for them in the mail (I rarely go to a bookstore anymore) plus the savings are a plus (when they have available the book you want)….but after I considered the pros and cons I decided not to buy it…first because I really like the feel of a real book…I love to look at my bookshelf and see all the books I love there. Real books are safer to carry around I guess…I don’t have to worry about running low on battery and if I loose the book I will only loose a few dollars and only one book that I can easily replace.
I also found a very good alternative to buy books…I became member of a club where you can swap your books for free and get those you want for free also….all are used books but they have to be in good condition….the site is www.paperbackswap.com it is really an amazing place. You’ll be amaze how much you can save by swapping used books and buying books in “very good” condition on amazon….most of those are really in better condition than listed…I just bought a new series of 6 books on amazon and I didn’t spent more than 13 dollars…I bought them all used and they all arrived in like new condition…you can’t tell they are used books!
It is not that I don’t think on buying the Kindle anymore…I sometimes do….but I always end up choosing the real book because you can always find a way to save without introducing another electronic device in your life
