Inducement to Buy Through Internet Marketing
Sainsburys, Tescos, Waitrose, these are the kinds of companies who are a dab hand at inducement to buy product from them. It could be extra points on your loyalty card, 2 for 1 for your baked beans, coupons and even now ordering on line so that you don’t have to go to the shop. Inducement is the biggest key to unlocking the door to the tremendous financial freedom and rewards that can be obtained through Internet Marketing.
Inducement means something that causes and encourages a given response or action. It could be encouragment, impetus, impulse, incentive, motivation, prod, push we could go on. If I needed to overcome insomnia perhaps an incentive would be to count sheep, but realistically it might need the inducement of a sleeping pill.
When selling information products on line – free information especially of good quality when given away will always induce a response in potential customers, and just like the large supermarkets with their many and varied inducements to buy products so the information marketing business has many ways to induce customers to buy.
Lets consider Internet Marketing Inducements:-
A Free Report. This can be a couple of pages or so or even longer as long as the information that you are supplying is relevant to the specific topic within your niche area and contains useful information to the visitor on the website. The best way to describe a FREE REPORT is that it contains useful but incomplete information. The visitor to your site gains some knowledge but to obtain a deeper understanding they will need to buy your ebook when it is launched. Another way to describe a free report is that it tells you what to do but not in any depth how to do it.
A Mini Course. Free information is delivered to your enquirer over a set period of time through your autoresponder usually 5, 7 or 9 days. The information is delivered daily using Aweber.
A Sneak Peak. Prospective customers need to build confidence with you, and inducements can be a tool to doing that. When it comes to buying on line customers can be a little apprehensive when getting their credit card out immediately. This tactic is one that is best used when you have your ebook site up and running as it allows you to provide them with a view of some sample pages, a chapter or the index to the subject matter, however when you do offer sample pages it is important to include the email list building tools that you would normally have on a name capture page – the objective being to get them onto your email list so that you can continue to build a relationship with them and at the same time building confidence.
Video Courses. Using Camtasia software, footage of your voice which enables you to describe something on your computer screen, or just video of yourself talking against a nice background. Somehow, video has a higher perceived value and therefore, more people will leave their details to see it. If you have never used video before, let me reassure you that it is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. Most new PC’s and MACs now come with software on them that enables you to edit video footage and by using screen capture software such as Camtasia or the free version of it Jing, you don’t even need a camera.
Tip of the Week. This is simply an email that you send out weekly to your prospective subscribers that offers them a tip, a tool or a technique they can use to improve their knowledge and skill within their niche market and if you combine it with a second free inducement, such as a free report or mini course, then the call to action is heightened to join your list.
Update Email. Many Internet Marketers miss this opportunity which is simply sending an email to your list each time you update your blog which informs them to come and see new information.
You have heard the expression ‘it is better to give than to receive’ Now is the time to give thought on how to develop inducement through Internet Marketing but whatever you do – don’t offer them baked beans!
