What are the most “classic” American movies (like The Wizard of Oz, Miracle on 34th Street)?
I’ve lived abroad for most of my life but I’m going to move back to the US when I’m old enough. Until then I’m planning on catching up with all the popular culture stuff, I never really got to watch the classics. I also want to listen to ebooks, does anyone have any recommendations? I’m already reading Virginia Woolf novels and her short story collection, I’ve read Sylvia Plath and I’m reading The Shining right now.
Miracle on 34th street is one, right? I want to be as up to date with old pop culture references as possible.

A Star Is Born (the one with Judy Garland)

Alot of these are musicals because during the 40′s and 50′s, musicals were a big craze.
oh, and to answer your question i believe its “Miracle on 42nd street” thats the classic. could be wrong.
